Sen. Lamar Alexander went to his hometown of Maryville on Tuesday to announce that he plans to run for re-election in 2008.
His office also announced that he will attend a fundraiser in his honor on Wednesday at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville.
Sen. Alexander will perform with a special musical guest, premiere a five-minute film and launch his new website, www.alexanderforsenate.com.
