A man robbed a Mapco convenience store on Highway 58 early Thursday morning.
At approximately 4:51 a.m., the Hamilton County Sheriff’s office responded to the armed robbery at the Mapco at 6120 Highway 58 in Harrison.
The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The investigation and video tape recovered from the store revealed the suspect was a white male, 6’ tall, 225 pounds, brown hair with a brown mustache, in his 40s wearing a plaid jacket, light colored T-shirt and blue jeans with white tennis shoes.
The suspect entered the store at 4:46 a.m. and went to the restroom. Meanwhile, another customer entered the store.
The suspect left the store at 4:48 a.m., leaving the parking lot in his vehicle. The customer inside the store left shortly after making a purchase.
At 4:51 a.m., the suspect pulled back onto the parking lot in a gold-colored Pontiac or Oldsmobile. He entered the store at 4:52 a.m. and told the clerk, “This is a robbery. Give me the money and you will not get hurt.”
The robber then placed his hand in the small of his back under his jacket to indicate he had a weapon. The clerk gave him the money from the cash register. No weapon was ever displayed by the suspect during the robbery.
The suspect fled the store and left the parking lot going south on Highway 58.
