No To BEP Lawsuit - And Reply
posted April 29, 2007

Re: Whether Hamilton County should file a lawsuit to try to change the BEP state education funding formula.

Let the legislature handle it. After all, they created it.

In my opinion, a wiser, more efficient and financially viable use of resources.

Unfortunately, a lawsuit is the only way to change things. The legislators have no interest in change.

Basically, the reps from every hole in the wall, podunk town in the state have "ganged up on the big boys" and are extorting money from them. Their cities don't raise sufficient tax revenue to provide for themselves so they take it from us.

Seriously, look at where these people are from - Covington, Turtletown, Goodlettsville, etc. But they outnumber the reps from the metropolitan areas by far. We're literally at their mercy. It's time it stopped.
