Fire Extinguished At Woodbridge Foam

A fire was extinguished by sprinklers at Woodbridge Foam off Amnicola Highway on Monday night.

At 7:49 p.m., the Chattanooga Fire Department was dispatched to a reported water flow alarm (sprinkler
system activation) at the plant at 1120 Judd Road.

On arrival of the first fire company, Quint 10, Captain Bill Melhorn noticed smoke at the building. Quint 10's crew forced entry into the structure and encountered heavy smoke.

After initial investigation, the fire was located in the back of the building. The fire was contained by the building's sprinkler system.

Fire department personnel were able to extinguish the fire and evacuate smoke from the structure. Damage to the structure and contents were determined to be minimal.

A fire investigator rwas seeking to determine the cause of the fire.

The Chattanooga Fire Department responded with Quint 10, Quint 16, Quint 19, Engine 4, Engine 15 and Ladder 5. The Chattanooga Fire Department was assisted by Hamilton County EMS.
