So what will it take to get local administration to deal with the rising crime in the Brainerd/Eastdale area? Last night, someone smashed the passenger window of my vehicle and stole the radio. This is about six months after I interupted someone breaking into my garage.
I've lived there for several years and had had no problems until these two incidents. Petty crime and violent crime is growing in this area at a rapid rate.
Remember the shootings on Tunnel Boulevard and Arcadia Ave? No one seemed too worried about that. Have a few kids get out of hand at Coolidge Park though, and we're freaking out and spending $600,000 for video cameras.
To Chief Cooper and Mayor Littlefield - please deal with the problem now. Don't wait until it gets so bad that everyone starts moving out of Brainerd.
I realize that you have to have police coverage in the tourist areas, but the residents are the ones who pay the property taxes. The property taxes help pay for the revitalization that brings the tourists. Take care of the people who live here, not just the people who visit.
