No Injuries In Early Morning House Fire posted July 10, 2007 Chattanooga firefighters responded to a house fire Tuesday around 9:30 a.m. at 1415 Greenwood Road. Captain David Brooks, acting public information officer on the scene, said the first firefighters to arrive observed heavy smoke coming from the rear of the one-story house. The firefighters made their initial entry through a window, and after confirming that no one was inside, worked to extinguish the fire. The dollar loss was estimated at around $40,000. No injuries were reported, but a pet dog perished in the blaze. Captain Brooks said five people lived in the house, but no one was home at the time. Volunteers with the American Red Cross were called in to provide assistance to the victims. The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation. In addition to Engine 15, Engine 4, Engine 5, Ladder 5 and Squad 3, Chattanooga police and Hamilton County EMS also provided assistance on the scene. |
