Mayor, County Commission, City Council, School Board Tag Along

A $5,376 pay increase for County Mayor Claude Ramsey with passage of the new county budget that includes a 26-cent tax hike helps other officials as well.
Pay of Mayor Ron Littlefield is tied to that of the county mayor and will rise the same amount - from $137,864 to $143,240.
Members of the County Commission and City Council get 15 percent of what the county mayor and mayor earn.
They will get a $760 pay increase from the current $19,508.
The commission and council chairmen (Larry Henry and Dan Page currently) now make $25,483 and will get another $993.
The commission and council vice chairmen (Bill Hullander and Linda Bennett currently) now make $22,494 and will get another $877.
County school board members are paid half the County Commission salary. They will get $380 raises. Board members now receive $9,754.
The School Board chairman (currently Joe Conner) will rise to $12,741 and vice chairman (currently Debra Matthews) will go to $11,247.
Other new pay levels at the county include County Attorney Rheubin Taylor up $5,225 from the current $133,976, County Mayor Chief of Staff Jeannine Alday up $5,212 from the current $133,641, Auditor Bill McGriff up $4,563 from the current $117,000, and Finance Director Louis Wright up $4,535 from the current $116,289.
Some of the top county officials had been slated for higher raises, but that was capped at 3.9 percent after concerns expressed by some County Commission members.
