Lookouts Make It Two Straight Over Birmingham With Shutout Win Wednesday, 5-0

The Chattanooga Lookouts (14-13) got their second straight outstanding pitching performance while scoring five runs in the first two innings to defeat the Birmingham Barons Wednesday afternoon, 5-0.

Tuesday night it was Sam Le Cure who stifled the Barons; Wednesday it was Carlos Fisher.

Fisher (3-5) went seven innings without giving up a run on one hit. He walked two and struck out eight.

His spectacular outing marked a return to form after five sub-par starts. The California native went 2-1 with a 1.26 ERA over his first seven starts for Chattanooga, but had been 0-4 with a 9.76 ERA over his previous five.

Brock Till and Carlos Guevara threw one scoreless inning each.

Chattanooga had 11 hits in the game to just three by the Barons.

Enrique Cruz went 3-4 with 4 RBI; Jay Garthwaite was 2-4 with an RBI; Drew Anderson went 2-5.

The Lookouts scored three runs in the first.
- Adam Rosales singled;
- Anderson reached on a bunt single down the third baseline;
- Cruz followed with a base hit that scored Rosales and Anderson. Cruz moved to second on an error;
- Garthwaite’s double to plated Cruz with the third run of the inning.

Chattanooga added two runs in the second after two outs. Rosales walked and Anderson singled to left. Both runners scored on Cruz’s double.
