Sen. Lamar Alexander on Wednesday issued his endorsement for Fred Thompson for President.
Sen. Alexander said, "Fred has a commanding presence, a sense of purpose, and the right principles.
"He will be a formidable candidate and would make an excellent president of the United States. I am proud to support him."
Thompson, 65, said on the Jay Leno Show on Wednesday night that he is in the presidential race.
