Tullahoma Postal Worker To Plead Guilty On Stealing Prescriptions
posted September 18, 2007

A postal worker at the Tullahoma Post Office plans to plead guilty to stealing items from the mail, federal authorities said.

Kristi J. Guess is set to plead guilty in Federal Court in Chattanooga.

She faces up to five years in prison and a fine up to $250,000.

Officials said an investigation began in March after several prescriptions were missing at the Tullahoma Post Office.

Ms. Guess was caught on video on Sunday, April 22, opening a prescription parcel, officials said.

Agents said when she was confronted, she confessed that she had been embezzling mail containing pain medication to which she had become addicted.
