Police Report Says Shot Was Fired At Poker Game Robbery posted September 24, 2007 A police report says a shot was fired just after three robbers ran out the back door of the Knights Of Columbus Hall on Lee Highway after a poker game heist. Police said the shot was fired as the robbers confronted Nicholas C. Jackson of Mountain Creek Road, who was trying to leave in his truck early last Thursday morning. The robbers fired a shot in the ground and took the keys to the truck, police said. The driver of the getaway vehicle for the robbers is identified in the report as Blake Kirkland. He has since been arrested. The report says the robbers burst in on the "overnight poker game." Knights of Columbus officials said they had rented the hall for the poker event. The robbers directed that the poker players give them money and then hit the ground, police said. The trio then collected wallets and purses from the players. Two of the robbers were armed with pistols. Those who were robbed, in addition to Nicholas Jackson, were listed as: Tina Peterson of Soddy-Daisy Terry Baker of Resaca, Ga. Russell Douglas Vaughn of Ooltewah Robert Martin of Dalton William Common of Fairfax, Okla. Michael Wayne Harrell of Dalton Rodney Randel of Soddy-Daisy Dorothy Coffman of Chattanooga Earl Gray of Fort Oglethorpe John Cagle of Chattanooga |
