Indian Summer Days Festival Is Oct. 5-7

The Annual Indian Summer Days Festival will be held Oct. 5-7, at Audubon Acres, located at 900 N. Sanctuary Road. Chattanooga’s Audubon Acres is a Trail of Tears Site in the East Brainerd area.

The event is an autumn celebration of Native American Heritage through art, crafts, games, dancing, storytelling, music, and other traditional skills. Demonstrations will include weaponry, native camps, flint knapping, beading, wood-carving, native foods, and more.

Special guests this year include beading artist, Martha Berry, pottery artists Bill Glass and Jane Ostin, all from the Cherokee Nation, Oklahoma. Pottery artist Joel Queen, of
The Eastern Band of Cherokee, Cherokee, NC will also attend and give demonstrations.
Lawrence Alexander of Archeological Consultants will offer an artifact identification session.

Events begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, Saturday from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Sunday, 12-4 p.m.
