Former Attorney Found Guilty On Forgery Charges posted September 26, 2007 Damon J. Lee, a former attorney in Bradley County, has been found guilty of two counts of forgery. He was ruled not guilty on a charge of theft. The state dismissed a second theft charge. Judge Amy Reedy heard the case without a jury. Prosecutor Wayne Carter said it was alleged that Lee had forged the signature of a client, James Runyan, on a check. It was also alleged that he forged a signature transferring ownership of a limited liability corporation. One charge was forgery over $1,000 and the second charge was forgery between $10,000 and $60,000. Lee will be sentenced by Judge Reedy on Feb. 22. |
