She Was Found Unconscious In Earlier Incident This Year

A search in Marion County for Chattanooga Assistant Police Chief Jeannie Snyder, who earlier this year was rushed to the hospital after being found unconscious at her home, ended with her being located late Wednesday night.
Kim Noorbergen, police spokesperson, said, "Assistant Chief Jeannie Snyder has been located and has been transported to a local hospital.
"There are no other details available and no other comments for the night."
Co-workers became concerned after Capt. Snyder did not report for work on Wednesday morning, police spokesman Sgt. Rick Mincy said earlier Wednesday.
Around 2 p.m., Capt. Snyder's vehicle was found in the New Hope community in the vicinity of Haletown near Macedonia Baptist Church. Sgt. Mincy said Capt. Snyder's family has a cabin near the church.
Shortly before dark, an ambulance arrived at the scene. But there was still no word from authorities. Shortly after dark, officials said the search was called off for the night.
The church is located by Nickajack Lake a short distance from Nickajack Cave. It is directly across from a section of the lake.
A mobile command post was set up and numerous police and emergency personnel were at the scene. Sgt. Mincy said some 150 officers were involved in the search at 7 p.m., and a number of others arrived later.
Blood hounds were being used to try to track the route she may have taken from her vehicle. One man said his hounds went from the car directly to the cabin, then on a zigzag pattern through the woods, but found no sign of the missing police official.
Also, four-wheelers were being used in the search and helicopters were overhead.
The Hamilton County STARS rescue unit was also at the site.
Sgt. Mincy said a number of agencies were helping, including the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department, the Marion County Sheriff's Department, the TBI, the Tennessee State Patrol and Tennessee Wildlife Management.
Sgt. Mincy said Chief Snyder's husband was out of town Tuesday night, but had returned Wednesday afternoon. He said he was at the couple's home, and Police Chief Freeman Cooper was with him. He said the last time Asst. Chief Snyder was seen was at the police department on Amnicola Highway on Tuesday afternoon.
In the incident in January, Ms. Snyder returned to her post after being in the hospital for two days.
An explanation was never given on why she had to be hospitalized.
Police officials said at the time that due to federal privacy regulations they could not comment any further on any of her medical conditions.
She had been rushed to Erlanger Medical Center on a Friday afternoon - with a police escort.
She was unconscious for about seven hours, then began to awaken.
She had just won her promotion under new Police Chief Freeman Cooper the day before.
She is the first female ever to reach the rank of assistant police chief in Chattanooga.
