They were winners on the first night of the two-day Miss Tennessee local preliminaries held at Chattanooga State.
The event is sponsored by the Hamilton County Scholarship Association.
Miss Schwab is a junior majoring in public relations and music business at Belmont University in Nashville. She sang the Elvis classic "Hound Dog" in the talent competition. Miss Schwab also won the overall interview award.
Miss Stahl, who won her first local after 15 tries, attends Union University in Jackson. She played a classical piano medley, won overall swimsuit, and was the recipient of the People's Choice Award.
Jasmine Jackson, a student at Middle Tennessee State University, was first runner-up to Miss Schwab.
MTSU graduate Kelly Dutton was Miss Stahl's first runner-up.
The Miss Chattanooga and Southeast Tennessee crowns will be decided Sunday starting at 4 p.m.
Misses Schwab and Stahl and Sunday's winners will represent the area at the 2008 Miss Tennessee Pageant in Jackson.
