What kind Of City Jobs Could Marti Do For The Next 3 Days?
posted October 23, 2007

I still believe the whole Marti controversy was way over-blown. That said, it's a shame Mayor Littlefield went against (what I believe was) the spirit of the City Council's decision regarding her benefits. But, what's done is done.

I say we make her actually work those three days and earn her benefits like the rest of the city employees. A quick look at the city's website lists some jobs she could perform for the next three days:

Animal Services Officer - By "investigating animal bites or vicious animal complaints" she could actually meet some folks in her district (whichever one that is).

Equipment Operator Senior - With all this rain lately, we could definitely use an extra person to help keep the storm gutters around town clear of debris.

Permit Clerk - If she had spent three days doing this job two years ago we could have avoided this whole mess.

I say we put her to work and make the best of a bad situation.
