Two candidates have now qualified to run for the vacant District 6 City Council seat. They are Charles Shaw and Melinda Hickey.
Five others have picked up papers to run for the seat vacated by Marti Rutherford over a residency issue.
The latest are Rick Igou, owner of the Nooga.com website, and Dr. Carol Berz, who earlier was a candidate for appointment to the seat by the City Council. The council later decided to name a "caretaker" until the Feb. 5 election.
Others are Julie Chamberlain, Samevelyn Rock and Barbara Kelley.
The deadline to apply is Nov. 15 at noon.
The election is Feb. 5.
