Fort Hill Cemetery Tours Set
posted October 25, 2007

Lee University along with Cleveland State Community College, the Bradley County Historical Society, and the Museum Center at Five Points will be sponsoring a Rediscovering Historic Cleveland: Fort Hill Cemetery Walking Tour on Sunday from 2-5 p.m.

The hour-long tours will be led by Lee University history majors and will introduce participants to several 19th century Cleveland and Bradley County residents who are buried in the historic section of the cemetery.

Tour guides and volunteer actors and actresses will be dressed in period costume to relate the histories of such notable historic residents as Myra Inman Carter, Col. Spencer Boyd and Judge Levi Trewhitt.

Parking will be available at the Boys and Girls Club on 3rd St. and visitors will be shuttled to the top of the hill to begin the walking tour. The tour cost is $5 per person and each person will be provided with a tour brochure.
