Rutherford To Work On Right-Of-Way Issue For 2 Days posted October 27, 2007 Mayor Ron Littlefield said resigned City Councilwoman Marti Rutherford will work on a Hixson right-of-way issue for two days in order to qualify for city retirement benefits. He said she will work on Thursday and Friday of this week gathering information related to extending Hamill Road in the direction of Northgate Mall. Nov. 3 is a Saturday and is also her 62nd birthday - allowing her to reach that milestone that qualifies her for the city insurance. The City Council has hired an attorney and has vowed to fight the benefit payment. The council earlier had an ouster lawsuit filed against Ms. Rutherford and brought charges against her on grounds she did not live in the District 6 she was supposed to represent. |
