Davidson Shuts Out Lady Mocs 4-0 On Senior Day

Davidson spoiled the Lady Mocs’ Senior Day Sunday afternoon with a 4-0 win over Chattanooga (2-11-2, 2-6-1 SoCon) at the North River Soccer Complex.

Kyri Bye-Nagel drove home two second half goals and assisted on the game winner in the first half as the Wildcats improved their record to 12-4-1 overall and 7-1-1 in Southern Conference action. In the 14th minute, the Wildcats drew Chattanooga keeper Milla Junni out of the net as she tried to make a play on the ball. She and another player collided, leaving the net open for Kristen Koerhn shot at 13:25.

Davidson put another score on the board before intermission when Suzanne Sittko’s shot rebounded off Junni to Tiffany Mumby with 43:39 gone in the game. Bye-Nagel added her pair in a span of less than two minutes to push the score up to 4-0.

Junni recorded 10 saves on the day, playing all 90 minutes in goal. Davidson outshot Chattanooga 22-1 and held the advantage on corners, 7-3.

Chattanooga honored its senior manager Jen Karn before the start of the game. The Lady Mocs will wrap up the season Thursday, Nov. 1 at Furman in a 7:00 p.m. matchup.
