The funds were raised through proceeds from sales during the restaurant’s pre-opening training services, as well as through donations from employees and guests. Abuelo’s is located at Hamilton Place Mall at 2101 Hamilton Place Blvd.
“We raised a substantial amount of money for a very deserving charity and had a lot of fun in the process,” said Ramesh Jolam, general manager of Abuelo’s. “The local community came out in full-force and showed outstanding support for Ronald McDonald House Charities. We are so pleased to be able to benefit such a wonderful organization that does such great work for critically ill children and their families.”
“We would like to thank Abuelo’s management and staff for choosing us as their charity and for their collective efforts in raising funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities, said Jane Kaylor, executive director, Chattanooga Ronald McDonald House Charities. “Community support and donations are what make Ronald McDonald House Charities great. Abuelo’s generous donation will cover the cost for 26 families to spend five days at the Ronald McDonald House during the health crisis of their child.”
