Why To Vote For Ron Paul - And Response
posted November 12, 2007

Why should you vote for Ron Paul?

I would like to offer an opinion as to this year's Presidential election and provide an informative look at a great candidate, no matter your party affiliation. I'd like to introduce you to Ron Paul.

By now I hope this is not the first you have heard of Dr. Paul and I do hope that you allow me the opportunity to lay out why we need to elect this fine Congressman from Texas. First off, Congressman Paul represents ideals most wish to see in elected representatives. He has never been on a lobbyist sponsored trip, he has received 99% of his Presidential campaign donations from individuals, he has never voted to raise Congressional pay, he has never voted to raise your taxes, take your guns or vote for an unbalanced budget. He leads Republican Presidential candidates in military donations, he votes to secure our borders, protect our religious freedoms and he is a persistent advocate for cutting federal spending. These are just a few things that Congressman Ron Paul has done while in office.

Now, what does this mean and why should you vote for him? Well, Ron Paul is in this race to help bring America back to its core values. These are the same values and principles laid out in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. In a year where Republican candidates are clamoring to be the next Ronald Reagan, Ron Paul is the only candidate espousing the same values that Ronald Reagan laid out in his "Shining City on a Hill" speech announcing his intent to run for President. He believes that the American people are best capable of solving their own problems and that the federal government's involvement in most matters today are not only unconstitutional, but better handled by the private market.

Some of the issues Ron Paul advocates may not sound familiar in today's political climate. He wants a return to the gold standard, which would help in scaling back the national debt, reducing inflation and raising the value of the dollar. As a constitutionalist, he wants to return the bulk of current federal government functions to the states and the private market as directed in the 10th Amendment. By eliminating unconstitutional federal departments and programs, states and local governments and the private market can better work to raise education standards, help the poor and deal with the healthcare problems facing this nation. These issues fell out of favor in Washington because they serve to diminish the power of the federal government and special interests, while allowing more freedom to the public to live their lives without intrusion.

I implore you to take a deeper look at Ron Paul and see for yourself that he is the best candidate for Republicans, Democrats and Independents. And for those who think that he has no chance, I would think twice. He shocked pundits by raising over $4.2 million in 24 hours on Nov. 5, setting a record for the most online donations in one day. Give Ron Paul your vote and he'll work to give you freedom once again.

God Bless America!

I have been convinced for a while now that if more people knew about Ron Paul, he would be the next President. In the least, if more people knew about Ron Paul, he would be guaranteed the Republican nomination. It's absurd that Giuliani is even considered a favorable candidate.

The Bush administration has changed politics. And that is not a good thing. They have effectively used carte blanche and have given America a bad image around the world. Vetoing bill after bill and failing to listen to the American public. The 26% or less of America that still believe Bush is doing a good job are disillusioned. It doesn't matter if you believe what the U.S. is doing in Iraq will benefit in the long run, there is a right way to do things. The Bush administration does not care about this.

In 2002, Ron Paul penned a bill asking congress to vote YES or NO on a declaration of war. Dr. Paul believed that this must be done as outlined in our Constitution. However, this bill was never signed. And when you give up liberty for security, you end up losing both.

I was not going to vote for a Republican candidate in the coming election. The Bush administration burned that bridge long ago. However, I will support Ron Paul if he is the Republican nominee. And only Ron Paul. During debates and speeches, Ron Paul speaks the truth and never plays to the crowd. His message is the same everywhere he goes. Ron Paul's message is one of liberty and true change. It's truly unfortunate that big media (which I dislike fervently) fails to look at the perceived interest of the public when looking at presidential candidates. Ron Paul's media presence has increased lately because of the immense grass roots fund-raising campaign (which Ron Paul had nothing to do with.)

When asked about America's foreign policy, too many candidates, Republican and Democrat, are only worried about their own image.

Question: "Do you think we should be in Iraq?" Candidate A: "I support our troops." Question 2: "But was it a mistake to go into Iraq?" Candidate A: "I think we need to stand by our troops." Ron Paul does not do this. Ron Paul believes it was a mistake to go into Iraq and it’s a mistake to stay there. When asked whether a troop withdrawal would cause a bloodbath, Ron Paul said, "The same people who say it'll be a bloodbath are the same ones that said it would be a cake-walk."
Ron Paul listens to our troops. And does Ron Paul wanting us out of Iraq make him un-patriotic? An disloyal to our troops? NO. Because guess who gets more donations from military personnel than any other candidate. Ron Paul.

And Ron Paul is also competitive on domestic issues. Ron Paul has never voted to raise taxes. Ron Paul voted against the Patriot Act. Ron Paul votes to cut government spending. Ron Paul votes to lower health care costs. Ron Paul votes to secure civil liberties. Ron Paul votes to secure our borders with real immigration reform. These are not campaign promises, these are documented, consistent votes. His 20-year voting record supports his opinions with no flip-flops. MSNBC has said that Ron Paul has, "The best voting record in congress."

People who care about what's happening in this country are supporting Ron Paul.

LiberTEA is brewing. Vote for Ron Paul.
