Fire Damages Rock And Country Club posted November 15, 2007 Chattanooga firefighters and other emergency responders were kept very busy as a severe thunderstorm made its way through the area last night. Most of the firefighters on duty were out on the road, responding to storm-related false alarms and downed power lines. At 9 p.m., the firefighters were dispatched to a fire at the Rock and Country Club at 6125 Airways Blvd. Capt. Charles Patton with Quint 8 said as they arrived they could see heavy smoke coming from the rear of the building. The fire was inside and firefighters quickly made their way in to make an interior attack. The flames were beginning to penetrate into the attic before firefighters could get the blaze under control. The building appeared to be unoccupied at the time. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation. Capt. Patton estimated the loss at $65,000. |
