A Bradley County Criminal Court judge on Monday ruled in favor of County Mayor Gary Davis in his funding dispute with Sheriff Tim Gobble.
Judge John Hagler said Sheriff Gobble failed to prove his office received inadequate funding.
At a trial of the case that began last week, the county called witnesses who said the sheriff's office was adequately funded.
Sheriff Gobble had sought more employees and equipment as well as higher salaries for his employees.
The sheriff's office was allotted $11.9 million, but Sheriff Gobble maintained he needed $3.2 million more.
