Tennessee Valley Railroad Has Valentine Dinner Train
posted January 16, 2008

The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is offering a Valentine Dinner Train Ride that will run Feb. 8, 9, 10, 14, 15 and 16. The rail excursion will include a four-course dining experience aboard a restored 1924 dining car.

"We enjoyed the fact that the ride was more than just dinner - it was fine dining and captivated time together, something we so rarely get these days," said Donna Usher, who rode the Valentines Dinner Train Ride with her husband last year.

This year dinner seatings will be at 5:30 and 8 p.m. Trains return to the Grand Junction Station at 10:15 p.m.

Reservations are required as these trips fill quickly. When purchasing tickets, patrons may select their entrée of carved English roast of beef topped in a Madeira sauce, roasted stuffed breast of chicken with a wild mushroom cream sauce or crusted filet of salmon with a béarnaise sauce.

In addition, patrons may choose from true vintage dining in the Dining Car (four to a table), semi-private dining in the Clover Colony, or the Eden Isle Office Car #98 for private parties up to eight. The Office Car boasts a dining room, lounge area and rear observation platform. Prices range from $70 per person for Dining Car seating to $800 per group for the Office Car.

For more information and reservations call The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum at 894-8028.
