Berz Leads In District 6 Fund Collections

Carol Berz brought in the most receipts in the District 6 City Council race.

She reported $14,468, including $5,000 she loaned the campaign.

Melinda Hickey was second at $9,963, including a personal loan of $4,044.

Others included Charles Shaw, $5,060; Julie Chamberlain, $4,650, and Barbara Kelley, $4,141.

Rick Igou has not yet filed a return.

The election is Tuesday. Early voting ends Thursday at 7 p.m. As of Tuesday, 10,091 early votes had been cast.

Ms. Berz received $2,500 from SEIU, the union that represents a number of city employees.

She got $1,000 each from Pamela Ladd and Mary Gardenhire, $540 from Matthew Hine, $500 each from Robert Siskin and Mark Robbins and $250 from Ellen Vergos.

Ms. Hickey got $1,000 each from John Foy, Ed Warwick and Jim Berry, $500 each from Larry Wells and Tommy Lupton, $250 from John Germ and $150 from Henry Boyd.

Mr. Shaw loaned his campaign $1,900 and received $500 from Sue Anne Wells, $250 from Paul and Bambi Hatcher, $200 from Curtis and Sue Ann Casey and $150 from Nancy Rus.

Julie Chamberlain got $1,000 from the Tennessee Realtors PAC and $400 from SETPAC.

Barbara Kelley loaned the campaign $2,568 and got $1,000 from Ellen Kelley and $250 from Kyle Weems.

The election office is 493-5100.
