She was born November 1, 1953 in Schenectady, N.Y., and later graduated from Oak Ridge High School, Tn. in 1971.
Concentrating in concert trumpet, she graduated in 1975 from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tn., with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education.
She earned her Associates Degree in Information Systems from Chattanooga State Technical Community College in 1985; her career in information technology began at Sun Trust Bank. At the time of her death, she was a software systems developer at Unum.
Known to family and friends as Becky, she married Charles (Chuck) Harden on August 17, 1973; they moved to Chattanooga, in 1975. She was a loving wife and mother, an avid scuba diver and underwater photographer. She also enjoyed camping, digital scrapbooking, raising orchids, and spending time with her two dogs, Sasha and Rudy.
Preceding her in death was her mother, JoAnne Schultz.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck; daughter, Aimee (fiancé Rodney) of Chattanooga; son, David (Karen) of Albuquerque, N.M.; father, Lawrence (Joyce) Schultz of Bismarck, N.D.; sisters, Deborah (Bruce) Hill of Denver, Co., and Beth (Greg) Allen of Torrance, Ca.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
The memorial service will follow at 3 p.m.
