Free Leave No Trace Seminar Tuesday Feb. 26
The public is encouraged to attend this fun, free seminar on Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the downtown Development Resource Center, 1250 Market St., Chattanooga. National Leave No Trace trainers J.D. Tanner and Emily Ressler will introduce participants to the history of Leave No Trace, and lead the group in activities and games to teach proper use of our outdoor resources. The seminar is appropriate for adults and kids ages 14 and older when accompanied by an adult. Light refreshments will be served at 5:30. The seminar begins at 6:00. ~Trout Unlimited Clean Water Meeting February 21
Find out about the Tennessee Clean Water Network at this month’s meeting of the Appalachian Chapter of Trout Unlimited, on Thursday, Feb. 21, 6:30 p.m. at Greenway Farm, 5051 Gann Store Rd., in Hixson. The featured speaker will be Courtney Piper, Director of Development and Communications for TCWN. All interested members of the public are invited to attend.

~Trekking With Tykes Feb. 23
Join the Tennessee Aquarium on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for a hike around Greenway Farm and North Chickamauga Creek for parents and tots. The guided discovery hike is free to the public, but limited to 20 participants. Reservations are required. Call (423) 265-0698.

~Give a Hoot! At CNC Feb. 23
Visit the Chattanooga Nature Center on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 11:00 to learn about the tiny Eastern Screech Owl After meeting the real thing, participants will then make an owl puppet. This program is geared for families with children 5 years and older. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Cost is $7 adults/$4 for Children ages 3-11 and Senior Citizens. ~CBC Hosts the Michael Pugh Jr Memorial Ride Feb. 23
The first annual Michael Pugh, Jr. Memorial bicycle ride will cover 60 miles of terrain around Signal Mountain, TN on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 9:00 a.m. The route will take riders up over Suck Creek Mountain, into the Sequatchie Valley, then back over Signal Mountain into downtown Chattanooga. The staging area will be at the Unum Provident parking lot between 3rd and 4th Street and Cherry/Walnut St. The ride is completely self-supported, so riders must be prepared with water, food, and spare parts. 7:00 p.m. - Night Hike - Meet Ranger Anthony at the Visitor’s Center for a night hike on the Meadow Trail to look for creatures of the night.
Sunday, Feb. 24
1:00 p.m. - Tree I.D. Hike - Join Ranger Jamie at Stone Door Ranger Station for this moderate one-half mile hike to learn about the diversity of the plateau forest.
