U.S. Sen. Bob Corker, who was appointed to the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee in January, announced Tuesday that Courtney Geduldig will be joining his staff as Chief Financial Counsel. Ms. Geduldig, a former Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Treasury, will be handling banking, tax and finance issues.
"Courtney comes to our team with a very strong resume and background in the banking and financial services sector," said Sen. Corker. "I'm thrilled we've been able to recruit someone with Courtney's expertise, and with her on board I believe we'll be able to enhance our work on the Banking Committee and on the critical economic issues facing our country."
Ms. Geduldig has worked as an attorney and as a government relations representative for small, medium, and large banks as well as for the CEOs of large and diversified financial services firms. Ms. Geduldig most recently served as Senior Vice President for Government Relations at the Financial Services Forum. Previously she served two years as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs at the U.S. Treasury Department where her portfolio included all domestic financial services issues as well as terrorist finance and asset tracking.
Ms. Geduldig received her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland and her law degree from the University of Baltimore.
Ms. Geduldig assumes her position on March 17.
