The James Company Honors Members At Awards Luncheon
posted March 21, 2008

The James Company Real Estate Brokers and Development hosted their ninth annual awards luncheon at the Stonefort Inn. Presiding over the celebration was Owner/Broker, James Perry. Deidra Cox, a mortgage banker, with J. P. Morgan Chase Bank was the guest speaker.

Ms. Cox began the meeting by challenging the brokers and staff members to operate their business like entrepreneurs and to embrace “CEO” mentality in their daily decision making. After the presentation, Mr. Perry stated, “The James Company was founded as a real estate firm that would be set apart from all the rest, one with a “Top Producer” mindset, recognizing that not just any licensee could qualify.” The realization of that dream occurred in late 1997.

The newest members of The James Company Society were recognized. These members include: Ashley Brumley, Marsha Hubbs, Kristin Sparks, Lisa Whittle, Bic Pedeville, and Terre McDermott.

Stewart Phillips was honored as Agent of the Year for 2007. A recent newcomer to the real estate industry, Mr. Phillips, obtained this designation by producing the highest volume of total sales in closed transactions. Additionally, he was recognized as the Top Sales Agent of the Year for 2007. Pamela Tyler was honored as the Top Listing Agent of the Year for 2007 and recognized for closing the highest volume of total listings. Other associates recognized based on their gross sales volumes were: Brenda Purcell, Carolyn Limmerick, and Sandy Battles.

The company’s “One For All Award,” a special award given at the discretion of the President, to an associate or staff person for outstanding individual effort was presented to Kim Yeargain. Mr. Perry said, “Kim’s dedication and loyalty to our company, our clients, and to the real estate community is exemplary. She has been with the company for 10 years.

The Gratitude For Service Award, an award presented to staff members for their exceptional service to the company was presented to: Gordon Adams, Kim Yeargain, Amanda Elliott, and Ovid McNatt.

In closing, Mr. Perry challenged the staff and associates to continue to give their best in professionalism and service to clients and customers in year 2008. He reminded agents of the company’s mission and said, “The James Company Real Estate Brokers and Development’s impact has always been much greater than would be suggested by the amount of market shares held. Our sheer volume has never been our idea of success; rather, recognition for doing something well is much more important.”
