Former Red Bank High Football Star Victor Ellis Loses Cancer Fight

Victor Ellis
Former Red Bank High School star Victor Ellis who went on to play for Alabama lost his cancer fight on Tuesday night. He was 28.

Ellis, who played four seasons at linebacker for the Crimson Tide, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer last fall.

A Victor Ellis Fund had been set up to help him in his struggle against cancer, and many of his former teammates joined in to help.

A member of the SEC's all academic team, he went on to play pro ball.

He died in Chattanooga surrounded by family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday after noon at Franklin Funeral Home on Dodds Avenue (formerly Turner Funeral Home).

The funeral will be Saturday at noon at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church.
