Club Coffee Pair Avert Most Serious Charge posted March 26, 2008 Two men on probation found working at an illegal strip club on Rossville Boulevard entered guilty pleas on Wednesday morning. But Randolph Jennings and Edward "Ace" Williams avoided the most serious charge. Prosecutors dismissed the charge of aggravated exploitation of a minor. Defense attorney Robin Flores said he believes the way the law is written that if the case had gone to trial the jury would have acquitted them on that charge. In an appearance before Criminal Court Judge Don Poole, Jennings pleaded guilty to marijuana possession and resisting arrest. He got 18 months. Williams pleaded guilty to three counts of unlawful sale and storage of alcoholic beverages and a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Police, who said they found a 14-year-old stripper at the club which had no beer license, padlocked it. It was found that Williams, the manager, and Jennings, a bouncer, were on probation with the same probation officer. Judge Poole said the pair will still have to deal with the probation department for any probation violation. |
