KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Senior Jessica Still has become Lee’s first NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Coaches First-Team All-American. Earlier Still joined former Lady Flame Lindsey Sparks as Lee’s only two players selected as State Farm’s Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) First-Team All-Americans.

Still finished her four-year career with 1,772 points and moved into fifth place on Lee’s all-time scoring list. Currently the top career 3-point shooter (365), the native of Owensboro, Ky. knocked down over 42 percent of her treys attempted. This season she scored 547 points and paced a well—balanced Lady Flame attack with a 15.6 per game average.

Senior Jan Dodson was a second-team All-American on both the WBCA State Farm club and the NAIA Coaches team. Dodson, known as one of the best all-around players to ever wear the Maroon and White, scored 1,396 for coach Marty Rowe’s club. She also grabbed 716 career rebounds to jump into 8th place in that department. Dodson posted 282 career assists.

Overall, Still and Dodson helped Lee win an amazing 110 games over the past four seasons and drop just 26 contests. The Lady Flames made four straight national tournament appearances and set a new Lee school record with 32 victories this season.

While Still and Dodson were outstanding on the basketball court, they also have been standouts in the classroom. Both earned the honor of NAIA All-American Scholar Athletes.

Sophomore Katie Nelson garnered a spot on the NAIA All-American honorable mention list. She averaged 14.4 points per game and 6.7 rebounds. In two seasons, Nelson has tallied 820 points and captured 447 rebounds.

The NAIA Player of the Year was Union University’s Josephine Owino, a 6-foot-4 junior center. The Lady Bulldogs were upset by Vanguard University (Calif.) in the semi-final round of the national tournament. Vanguard, a team Lee defeated during the holiday break in Hawaii, went on to defeat Trevecca Nazarene and win its first NAIA championship.

Owino was joined on the NAIA All-American first team by the lone repeat first-team selection from 2007, Vanguard (Calif.) University senior guard Jessica Richter.
