UTC professor Jean Howard-Hill has picked up papers for a possible challenge of longtime Third District Congressman Zach Wamp.
Ms. Howard-Hill picked up papers as an Independent.
Rep. Wamp has qualified.
This could be his last two-year term in Congress as he is considering a race for governor in 2010.
The qualifying deadline is next Thursday at noon.
