Jim Vincent picked up papers on Friday for a try to regain his seat in the Legislature.
He said he will return the papers early next week for a contest against incumbent Republican Jim Cobb of Rhea County.
Mr. Vincent served on the County Commission, then won a seat in the Legislature.
He later did not seek re-election and Rep. Cobb won the post.
The district includes part of Hamilton County and all of Rhea County.
