Ooltewah's Cotter Signs To Play Volleyball At ETSU posted April 9, 2008
She will play under Head Coach Lindsey Devine beginning in the fall of 2008. Courtney ended her high school volleyball career in Murfreesboro, where her team placed second in the state tournament. Cotter was voted to the 2006 and 2007 All District and All Region team, and was also voted to the 2008 All State Tournament team. Courtney’s teammates, coaches, friends, and family joined her Wednesday morning at Ooltewah High School, where she signed the ETSU documents. After visiting ETSU earlier in the year and meeting Head Coach Lindsey Devine and the team, Courtney was certain this was the right school for her. Courtney credits the success she has had to her high school coaches, Head Coach Elaine Peigen, Assistant Coach Heidi Moses, and her Choo-Choo City Volleyball coaches, Head Coach Paul Brock and Assistant Coach Bryan Bramlett. She said, "Without the experience and knowledge that these coaches have of the game, I wouldn’t be where I am today." Courtney chose ETSU after visiting several other colleges that were recruiting her, and is confident ETSU is where she belongs. She is excited about playing the Lady Volunteers this fall on the BUCS home court. Courtney is the sister of Christy Cotter who also played at Ooltewah High School and continues to play on a volleyball scholarship at Tennessee Wesleyan in Athens, where she is a sophomore. |
