Deputies noticed several laptop and desktop computers lying in weeds next to the Chevrolet Corsica that had left the road and struck a tree. One of the laptops was activated and gave deputies the name of the owner.
911 Communications Center personnel were able to locate the woman after several attempts. She informed them that she had talked to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office about a burglary that just occurred at the real estate office where she works and a mortgage company that is next door.
Three laptop computers, two desktop computers, along with keyboards and other accessories, were brought to the Criminal Investigations Division of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office where they were returned to the owner.
The sole occupant of the vehicle, Gabriel Llumbet, 20, of County Road 316 in Niota, was charged with theft over $1,000 and he will face additional charges in Hamilton County.
As a result of cooperation between the two agencies, a full recovery of the stolen property was made and the suspect will be charged with the crimes. Bradley County Deputies conducting the investigation were Shane McKee, David Harper, Sgt. Clint Denny and Det. Jimmy Smith.
At approximately 2:22 a.m. Tuesday, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglar alarm at 8121 Ooltewah-Georgetown Road, First Bank Mortgage and Crye-Leike Realtors.
After arrival at the address it was found that both businesses had been entered, but nothing appeared to have been taken from First Bank Mortgage but numerous computers were taken from Crye-Leike Realtors. Those were the computers found at the wreck scene.
Deputy George Delker of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office obtained warrants on the suspect for two counts of burglary and one count of theft over $1,000.
The suspect will be brought to the Hamilton County Jail to be booked on the outstanding warrants after he has been released from the Bradley County Jail.
