Kenco Promotes Key Executives

Kenco Logistic Services, LLC, headquartered in Chattanooga, announced the following promotions:

Andy Smith, President and Chief Operating Officer
A 19-year veteran of the logistics industry, Mr. Smith joined Kenco in December of 1999, and was appointed the chief operating officer in 2004. As of January, he added the title of president to his position. In this role, Mr. Smith is responsible for the oversight and management of Kenco Logistic Services, LLC, and all of its operations.

Originally from Greeneville, Tn., he received a BS degree in Business from UTC. Mr. Smith is a member of Warehouse Education Resource Council and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. He and his wife, Karen, a partner at Miller & Martin law firm, and their two sons currently reside in Cummings Cove, where he enjoys golfing in his spare time.

David Caines, Senior Vice President, Logistics
Mr. Caines has been working with Kenco since graduating from Covenant College in 2002, with a degree in Business and Accounting. His previous roles have been operational manager for KM Logistics; director of KM Logistics; director of Kenco Logistic Services; and vice president of Kenco Logistic Services. In his new role, Mr. Caines is responsible for P&L for 16 major clients, a $94 million book of business with 37 locations, 1,490 employees and 10.3 million square feet of warehouse space. His key initiatives are to develop new avenues to drive margin improvement, direct ongoing strategic planning process, assist in financial management systems and oversee the development of integration management systems.

Mr. Caines is a Six Sigma Black Belt and has been trained in LEAN engineering. He is a member of CSCMP; WERC and UT Supply Chain Forum. He and his wife, Mary, and their three children reside in Lookout Mountain. His hobbies include golf and music.

David Gilley, Senior Vice President, Marketing
Long-term sales and marketing veteran, David Gilley was promoted to senior vice president of Sales & Marketing in January. In this capacity, he is responsible for developing and managing the annual sales plan, participating on the Executive Strategic Planning team, managing national and international sales efforts, and managing four key functional groups: public sales, new contract sales, existing customer sales and overall marketing. Originally from Radford, Va., and a long-time Chattanooga resident, Mr. Gilley is a graduate of Concord University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Prior to joining Kenco, he was executive vice president of Returns Distribution Specialists, LLC.

Mr. Gilley is a member of the CSCMP and WERC. He and his wife, Sharon, have seven children and eight grandchildren (with more on the way). Mr. Gilley is an avid outdoorsman and loves history, storytelling and travel.

Paula Hise, Director, Corporate Operations
Prior to joining Kenco in May of 2006, Ms. Hise had director-level experience in call center operations and customer relationship management, working with several Fortune 500 companies in the direct-to-consumer warehousing and distribution industry. In her new position, she is responsible for managing Kenco’s corporate projects, a customer advocate program designed to grow relationships with existing customers and 4 DC network for a leading pharmaceutical company consisting of 1.2 million square feet and 360 associates.

A native of Chattanooga, Ms. Hise is a graduate of UTC with a Bachelors degree in History and is a Six Sigma Green Belt. She and her husband, Alan, and beloved cat “Delmar,” live in Rising Fawn, Ga. In her precious but limited spare time, she is an avid yoga practitioner.

Craig Riggins, Director, Operations
Mr. Riggins brings more than 10 years experience in the logistics and direct-to-consumer industry to his new role as director of operations for Kenco. Prior to this position, he served as general manager for Komatsu Chattanooga Manufacturing Operation-Kenco, where he was responsible for the management, control and accuracy of an average on-hand inventory of $30 million and 10,000-plus stock keeping units; as well as coordinating pick sequencing and all assembly logistical supply activities to meet manufacturing and production requirements. For the past two years, Mr. Riggins has served as corporate operations manager for Kenco, where he has provided operational support for all aspects of the business. In his new role, he is responsible for the management, financial performance and operational excellence initiatives for a major appliance manufacturer and leading bath/kitchen fixture distributor in markets throughout the U.S.

Originally from Chattanooga, Mr. Riggins is a graduate of UTC with BS degrees in Business Administration and Human Resources. A sports enthusiast, devoted husband and father, he and his wife, Lisa, and their two sons reside in Chattanooga.
