KNOXVILLE and ENGLEWOOD, COLO. – DISH Network Corp., the nation’s third largest pay-TV provider and the digital transition leader, Saturday announced an agreement with the University of Tennessee Athletics Department as a UT Corporate Champion, the university’s most elite level of corporate sponsorship.

The agreement includes multimedia rights and sponsorships of key promotional themes during each year of the contract, including DISH Network’s exclusive sponsorship of “Perfection,” a season-long tribute to the 10-year anniversary of the undefeated 1998 National Championship football team. Additionally, DISH Network becomes the official satellite provider of the University of Tennessee Volunteers and joins other Tennessee Corporate Champions Adidas, Coca-Cola, First Tennessee and Verizon Wireless.

“We are proud to support one of the top universities in the country and one of the premiere NCAA Division I college athletics programs,” said Jessica Insalaco, chief marketing officer for DISH Network. “The University of Tennessee’s tradition of winning is a perfect fit with DISH Network’s tradition of providing the best college and professional sports programming, award-winning technology, and industry-leading value and customer service.”

“To have DISH Network’s support and national reach is phenomenal,” said Mike Hamilton, men’s athletics director. “DISH Network’s sponsorship also features the debut of a retrospective Vol Network DVD commemorating the 1998 National Championship team that will be available later this year. In addition, DISH Network will pay tribute to team members from the 1998 squad at each home game, plus we will have a special team gala this fall.”

This new agreement is being celebrated with a special halftime ceremony at the DISH Network Orange and White Game at Neyland Stadium.

To share this sponsorship with consumers, DISH Network will be making a first-of-its-kind offer to new subscribers. This special promotion, made in conjunction with Pilot Corp., includes three months of free programming and a $50 Pilot Oil gift card and a free DISH Network gift featuring the Power T. UT TO HOST “PERFECTION” REUNION IN OCTOBER FOR 1998 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Tennessee Volunteers’ 1998 Football National Championship. Several members of the 1998 team are on-hand at this weekend’s Dish Network Orange and White Game to kick-off the “Perfection” campaign to celebrate their accomplishments.

This fall, the Volunteers will be paying tribute to the players who brought home Tennessee’s first national championship in 31 years. Two members of the team will be recognized as the Dish Network Legend of the Game before each home game. A special reunion for the entire team is planned for Oct. 24-25. Included will be a special gala titled “Perfection” for members of the 1998 Tennessee football team and UT fans at the Tennessee Theatre in downtown Knoxville on Friday, Oct. 24.

“The 1998 team holds a special place in the hearts of all Tennessee fans,” head football coach Phillip Fulmer said. “We’re excited about having these guys back throughout the season and celebrating an unforgettable team.”

More details about the event will be announced in the coming months.
