The Children’s Advocacy Center of Hamilton County will hold its annual “Helping Hands ~ Helping Children” Child Abuse Prevention Conference on April 25 at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga Student Center (TN Room).
Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield, State Sen. Andy Berke and several UTC officials will be on hand to help open the conference at 8:30 a.m.
The keynote speaker is Gregg Sullivan, supervisor for the Chattanooga Office of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee. His topic is "Child Exploitation on the Internet."
The conference is designed to provide the most current training on topics related to child abuse prevention and awareness and is open to professionals, parents and students.
Among the topics for breakout sessions during the annual program are child exploitation on the internet, healthy sexual development, early brain development and learning, and the impact of maternal substance abuse on child development.
