Howard Charged In $200,000 Fraud At U.S. Xpress
posted April 29, 2008

Stanley M. Howard has been charged by federal authorities in connection with a scheme that brought losses of over $200,000 to the U.S. Xpress trucking firm.

Howard, who is represented by attorney Jerry Summers, has agreed to plead guilty in this case in which others have been charged.

Howard was employed in the breakdown department of the trucking firm and would authorize payment for repairs that did not in fact occur, prosecutors said.

Over 500 checks were issued for the non-existent repairs.

Howard faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine up to $250,000.
