Governor's Energy Task Force To Meet posted May 2, 2008 Governor Phil Bredesen will convene the first meeting of the Governor’s Task Force on Energy Policy on Monday to begin the process of developing a state energy plan. The 17-member panel includes key legislators and state officials as well as representatives of business, environmental and other interests. The task force is charged with making recommendations to help Tennessee become a leader in energy efficiency and conservation, use of alternative fuels and renewable energy sources, and the development of clean-energy technology. Headlining Monday’s meeting will be Dr. Jeff Wadsworth, executive vice president of Laboratory Operations for Battelle, which manages Oak Ridge National Laboratory in a partnership with the University of Tennessee. Mr. Wadsworth will provide an overview of energy generation, consumption, and key trends in the Volunteer State. The public is invited to attend.
