Davenport, Paul Shipman

Paul Shipman Davenport, 88, of Red Bank, died on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, in a local healthcare facility.

Paul attended First Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Lee Anderson Sunday School Class and It’s a Wonderful Life group. He retired from Noland Company with 30 years of service. Paul served in the Army Air Corps during WWII.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Lewis Davenport.

He is survived by his daughter, Martha D. (John) Mabry of Chattanooga; sons, James H. (Gail) Davenport of Chattanooga, Thomas L. (Tammy) Davenport of Trenton, Ga., and Timothy G. (Brenda) Davenport of Sebring, Fl.; brothers, William (Margaret) Davenport of Nashville and Harold (Jean) Davenport of Naples, Fl.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors and Lee Anderson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37416.

Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel, 601 Ashland Terrace.
