Denise George Speaks At Scenic City Women's Network May 22

Denise George will speak at the Scenic City Women's Network Luncheon on Thursday, May 22.

The luncheon will be from noon – 1 p.m. and will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 554 McCallie Ave. Parking is available across Douglas Street Behind Christian Science Church.

Ms. George will speak on "Forgiving Those That Hurt You." Ms. George is a full time writer and speaker. She has written 22 books and has spoken at women's retreats, seminars, numerous church groups, seminary and college classes, etc. She received a Master's of Divinity from Southern Seminary. Her most current book is What Women Wish Pastors Knew -Understanding the Hopes, Hurts, Needs, and Dreams of Women in the Church. She was a contributor to the Zondervan Woman's Study Bible and Broadman and Holman's Family Worship Bible. She has written articles for Christianity Today; Decision; Guideposts; Homelife; Mature Living; Parentlife; Catholic Digest; Lutheran Digest and numerous others publications in 20 different denominations. She has served at many churches, LifeWay (where she was the founding director of the Southern Baptist Convention Women's Ministries in 1995), and the Home Mission Board. She is currently working as an Adjunct Professor at the Beeson Divinity school, Samford University in Birmingham, Al.

SCWN is a nonprofit ministry designed to meet the needs of today's Christian working woman. Their vision is to encourage women with a sense of belonging to God and each other; equip women to develop spiritual maturity and to become all they are to be in Christ; and energize women to bless others with the love, grace, and truth of Jesus Christ.
