Ruby Gillins Morton, 70, died on Thursday, May 1, 2008, in Mableton, Ga.
Ruby was a retired employee of Erlanger Hospital. She was also a former employee of Dr. David Pitts, Hamilton County Health Department, Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Hamilton County Government Correctional Institution and Orange Grove Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Catherine Davis Gillins; spouse, Obie T. Morton Sr.; and son, Obie T. Morton Jr.
She is survived by siblings, Caroline (Leroy) Robinson, Betty Baker, Robert (Althea) Gillins; devoted children, Hortense (Floyd) Price, Beaumont, Texas, Vanessa Morton, Mableton, Ga., Lesmer (Gene) Orr, Douglasville, Ga., Ardenna (Gary) Logan, Lithia Springs, Ga. and Hilton T. Morton; loving grandchildren, Brittany and Briana Price, Beaumont, Texas and Terrell Orr, Douglasville, Ga.; many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, at the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at noon and the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
