Hamilton Countians Selected For History Excellence Awards posted May 10, 2008
The award was presented at the ETHS Annual Meeting of the Membership, held May 7 at the Museum of Appalachia in Norris. "BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is to be commended for their commitment to preserving this story and Mr. Harris and Ms. Dockery for excellence in production," says ETHS Vice President, Carrington Montague, of Chattanooga. Ronald Harris is the BCBST Manager for Workforce Diversity and Emily Dockery is a Communications Consultant in Corporate Communications, BCBST. Now in its 27th year, the Awards of Excellence program annually recognizes work in history by individuals and organizations across a 35-county region. ETHS is an educational organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the unique and sometimes colorful history of the region. Headquartered in the East Tennessee History Center in downtown Knoxville, ETHS also pursues its mission through publications, lectures, exhibits, teacher workshops, student programs, and sponsorship of National History Day for East Tennessee. Its new signature exhibit, Voices of the Land: The People of East Tennessee, scheduled to open in late summer, will be the only exhibit dedicated to telling the story of the entire region. |
