Betty Duene Giles Nicholson, 78, died on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at her daughter’s residence.
A lifelong resident of the LaFayette and Trion areas, she was a former employee of Caron Spinning, and was a member of Waterville Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. H.E. Nicholson; parents, Grady and Ruthie Williams Giles; and son, Dennis E. Nicholson.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Saundra and Steve Upton, of LaFayette, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Mike J. and Alice Nicholson, of LaFayette; sister, Sue Sharpe, of North East, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Sam Barrett and the Rev. Chris Hulsy officiating. Interment will follow at East Armurchee Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 3-9 p.m. on Sunday and from 8 a.m. Monday until funeral time at the funeral home.
