Beautiful By Cristie Photography Celebrates Opening In Southside
posted May 12, 2008

Festivities celebrating the opening of a new photography studio, Beautiful by Cristie, will take place on May 14.

A ribbon-cutting, arranged by the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce, will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Henderson Hutcherson and McCullough board room in the Freight Depot at 1200 Market Street.

Owner/photographer Cristie Sims has been working as a professional photographer for 12 years. Before relocating to Chattanooga’s southside she had a successful photography business in Savannah.

Ms. Sims specializes in real-life photography, including memory books, family portraits, weddings and 50’s style vintage, pin-up photography. A new product line is children’s story books that feature photographs of children with a story written just for them.

"I believe all things in life are beautiful,” Ms. Sims says. “You just have to look to see it. My job is to capture a moment that evokes memories for years to come of a particular time in a person’s life. I don’t use stage make-up or perfectly manicured sets, just real people in an everyday setting. That’s true beauty. My style is unique, blending photo-journalism and the contemporary with just a touch of artistic flair.”

Ms. Sims is available by appointment. Contact her at 423 243-8883 or visit www.cristiesims.com.
