Geneva Mae Taylor, 65, of Cleveland, died on Saturday, May 10, 2008 with her family by her side, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Taylor enjoyed fishing and she loved her children and grandchildren very much.
Mrs. Taylor was a native of Tellico Plains and she was the daughter of the late Susie Martin Ellis and Ben Ellis. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Joe Taylor; her sisters, Gladys and Arlie Ellis and Clara Payne; and her brothers, J. D., Fred, Ed and Benton “Babe” Ellis.
Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Smith and her husband Chris, Paula Shell and her husband Curtis all of Cleveland; her grandchildren, Joey Payne, Christine and Jessica Smith all of Cleveland; her sisters, Levia Stewart, Lonia Davis and her husband Clifford, Bertha Davis and her husband Herbert; her special brother, Roy Ellis all of Tellico Plains; her sisters in law, Brenda Knotts and her husband Don, Carolyn Dungan and her husband Terry; her very special friends, Ida Mae Hitson and Jesse Cabrera; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 from the Coker Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Lee Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in the Coker Creek Church Cemetery with Joey Payne, Chris Smith, Robbie Sampson, Don Knotts, Curtis Shell, Justin Smith and Mark Simpson serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
