Longtime Dress-Maker At LaDean Shop

Jewell Posey Huskey, 88, died on Monday, May 12, 2008, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Huskey was born in Dekalb County, Sand Mountain, Al., in 1920 where she graduated from Pisgah High School. She was the daughter of the late Marion and Florence Wilkins Posey. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, E.E. "Ed" Huskey.
Mrs. Huskey worked at National Yarn Mill until she took time off to rear her daughter, Renee Huskey, now of Atlanta. She and her husband operated Princess Dry Cleaners in the late 1960s and 1970s. Later, she was employed by the LaDean Shop where she used her expert dress-making skills to fit wedding dresses and ball gowns for many young ladies. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Temple where she enjoyed fellowship with the Esther Sunday School Class and the Golden Ager's Group.
Mrs. Huskey is survived by her daughter, Renee Huskey, Atlanta; brother, Edwin (Ann) Posey, Hixson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. David Sampson officiating. Interment will follow in Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
